The Copenhagen first saw popularity in field sports, particularly in soccer due to the research demonstrating significant reduction in hamstring injuries, which is a common injury modality in soccer. About 10 years ago, I started popularizing this drill in strength training for both warmup as well as adductor development. it has become commonly promoted within the industry. However I still see the drill done in a manner that would be less effective than it could be.
