Shigatse prefecture (གཞི་ཀ་རྩེ།) is the central prefecture of Tibet. The area is traditionally known as Tsang. Bordering Lhasa and Lhokha on the east, Nepal on the south, Ngari prefecture on the west and Nagqu Prefecture on North.
