POSH ACT: Workplace Harassment and Sexual Harassment

In 2013, the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace POSH Act, 2013 became law. It is critical to distinguish between occupational harassment and sexual harassment. Posh Act workplace harassment may take numerous forms and span caste, class, and gender lines. Sexual harassment is defined as conduct with a sexual overtone, and the discomfort exists because the person is uncomfortable because of the sexual subtext – this does not have to be explicit, but can be implied by the scenarios, the people involved, their equations in the workplace, power structures, and the POSH act itself.
