Instead, the studio intends to create a successful groundwork from which WoW Classic can expand. "Our most important goal when planning to prepare for WoW Classic's launch is making sure we're laying the foundations for solid realm communities that will endure over the months and years that follow, which is the reason we're opening up new servers in order to meet the demands," Blizzard told Polygon.

In advance of WoW Classic's launch, Blizzard advised that queue times could be a lot longer than most people might think. It also provided methods to ensure that players don't end up waiting too long. "We urge players playing on realms designated Full or High to make plans to play on these new realms to avoid the long queues and aid in spreading the number of players in a way that is fair and give the best gaming experience for all," the studio said.

WoW Classic is basically a remake original WoW that features the same characters models as well as combat mechanics and skills trees from the original game, as they were launched 10 years earlier. A regular WoW subscription is required to be able to access WoW Classic.
