Vettori hails SRH's clinical bowling display

Sunrisers Hyderabad's hopes of qualifying for the knockout mathematically came to an end on Monday (May 5) when their contest against Delhi Capitals in Hyderabad was abandoned due to rain.

 Interestingly, it came on a day when the Pat Cummins-led side had delivered one of its best bowling performances, restricting the visitors to 133 for seven before rain interrupted play. SRH didn't get a chance to bat and eventually had to share points with DC.

The result has now left last year's finalists with only seven points after 11 games this season, meaning at best, they can reach 13 points at the end of the league stage if they were to win all their remainings contests.

That, unfortunately, wouldn't be enough for them to secure a berth in this season's playoffs.

SRH's performance last season and their terrific batting show in their tournament opener this year made them favourites to win the title.

 However, the lack of consistency from all departments hampered their chances. By the time they could put up a standout performance with the ball and on the field, it was too late.
