Special Forces veteran Seo Hoon-tae wins bronze in air rifle...third medal for South Korea
Former special forces marksman Seo Hoon-tae (39, Kolon) won the third medal for South Korea at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.
Seo shot a total score of 231.7 points in the R4 Mixed 10-meter Air Rifle Prone (Sport Class SH2) final at the Chateauroux Shooting Center in France on Tuesday (Sept. 30), finishing third behind Slovenia's Gorazd Tircek (253.3 points) and France's Tangi Forrest (253.1 points).
Seo became the third South Korean athlete to win a medal at the Paris Paralympic Games, following Lee Yoon-ri (49-Wando County Government, Wando - silver) in Women's R2 10m Air Rifle Ijwa (Sport Class SH1) and Cho Jeong-doo (37-BDH Paras, Paras - gold) in Men's P1 10m Air Pistol (Sport Class SH1).
In the mixed air rifle final, a total of eight athletes of both sexes compete in the event, firing first 10 shots, then two shots, with the lowest combined score eliminated one by one.
Seo scored 10.4 or better on all of his first 10 shots to take first place with 106.1 points.
From there, Seo continued to shoot error-free and remained in first place until the 16th shot.
However, he dropped to second place after shooting a relatively low 10.3 on his 18th shot, and he scored a 10.3 on his 19th shot to take third place.
Seo was unable to catch up with Tirsek and Forrest after that and finished the match on the 22nd shot.
His teammate Park Dong-ahn (47, Gwangju, South Korea) finished seventh.
Seo became a spinal cord paraplegic in 2008 after a fall while serving as a special forces officer.
He played table tennis and wheelchair rugby before switching to shooting and becoming a Paralympic medalist. 파워볼사이트 추천
