The shoes — worth about $200 — went on sale Saturday, sparking multiple disturbances throughout Minneapolis and Madison as people hoping to score a pair of Michael Jordan's new line of sneakers found there wasn't enough to go around. In Madison, a scuffle broke out among a crowd of 60 customers after learning Finish Line Footwear had only 10 pairs. Meanwhile in Brooklyn Center, cops were already at the strip mall when a melee inside the store spilled out into the parking lot.

It was absolutely crazy," witness Latrissa Favorite told WCCO-TV after the 10 a.m. shooting. "I heard police screaming 'Get down, get down.'"

Shoppers darted for cover as witnesses outside Foot Locker heard least six shots ring out. Those bullets struck two victims. Both of those injured are expected to survive, authorities said."It makes you sad for the people and the mentality and mind frame that we have, that we have to kill somebody. That nobody's life is valued anymore," Favorite added.
