Alfa Chemistry Launches Fluoropolymers as An ISO 9001:2015 Certified Supplier
Recognized for their unmatched chemical and temperature resistance properties, fluoropolymer materials are widely used in many industries. In order to help accelerate relevant research, the management team of Alfa Chemistry has recently launched a new website for the supply of a full range of fluoropolymers, encompassing: PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene), FEP (Fluorinated Ethylene Propylene), PFA (Perfluoroalkoxy alkane), ETFE (Ethylene-tetrafluoroethylene), PVDF (Polyvinylodinefluoride), ECTFE (Ethylene-chlorotrifluoroethylene), PCTFE (Polychlorotrifluoroethylene), MFA (TFE/Perfluoromethylvinylether Copolymer), and other copolymers.
Over the past years, the US FDA has approved many fluoropolymers, e.g., PTFE, PFA, and FEP, for use in repeated food contact. In addition, these fluoropolymers also serve as excellent alternatives to exotic metals at high temperatures in applications like chemical processing, oil wells, motor vehicle engines, and nuclear reactors, where hydrocarbon-based polymer presents dysfunctionality.
“The fluoropolymer family is famed for low toxicity and almost no toxicological activity. Few fluoropolymers have been reported to cause skin sensitivity and irritation in humans,” said the Marketing Chief of Alfa Chemistry. “Meanwhile, fluoropolymers are also known for many other properties, such as chemical resistance, thermal stability, flame resistance, low friction coefficient, low surface energy, low dielectric constant, as well as high volume and surface resistivity.”
Among the fluoropolymer family, PTFE is the dominant one and is closely followed by FEP, PFA, ETFE, and other tetrafluoroethylene-copolymers. Meanwhile, the mentioned fluoropolymers account for about 3/4 of the entire fluoropolymer market. It is worth mentioning that fluoroelastomers have also received growing popularity in the recent decade as highly specialized and functional materials.
The varieties of fluoropolymers available at Alfa Chemistry include:
FEP (Fluorinated Ethylene Propylene)
PFA (Perfluoroalkoxy alkane)
PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene)
ETFE (Ethylene-tetrafluoroethylene)
ECTFE (Ethylene-chlorotrifluoroethylene)
PCTFE (Polychlorotrifluoroethylene)
PVDF (Polyvinylodinefluoride)
TFE/Perfluoromethylvinylether Copolymer (MFA)
Other Copolymers
