Elden Ring DLC Expansion Officially Announced by FromSoftware
After an extended wait, Elden Ring's expansion is officially announced by FromSoftware alongside an image of the new location players will explore.
Not long afterward the game's anniversary, FromSoftware finally announced the highly anticipated expansion for Elden Ring. Ever since the very first Dark Souls game, FromSoftware has provided an expansion for each RPG it's released. For nearly annually, individuals have been speculating about what the expansion of Elden Ring would entail, which the story would drive them, so when it would finally be announced.
Elden Ring was one of the most anticipated games since its first announcement years back, captivating players by having a world created not just by Hidetaka Miyazaki, but the famed author George R.R. Martin helping alongside. When it had been finally released, it had been hit with critical acclaim, with lots of praising its well-crafted open world, setting, and gameplay which allowed for lots of freedom. Since the explosive launch, fans happen to be staying mixed up in the community, posting videos of the experiences hanging around and the many different ways in which they undertake Elden Ring's hardest boss Malenia, all while awaiting any news from the expansion.
Thankfully, the fans will need to wait no more, since the official Elden Ring Twitter has finally put out the very first bit of details about the long-awaited DLC. The tweet announces that the development, which is currently in development, is going to be titled "Shadow from the Erdtree." Alongside this tweet is a single picture, depicting a figure with long blonde hair atop a spirited steed, possibly Torrent, as she gazes from what looks to become the outskirts of the Lands Between, seeing the destroyed Erdtree within the distance because it leaks a golden liquid from the husk.
The woman's location, which could be Elden Ring's Badlands, is a wide, hilly field of weeds one of the ruins of buildings, using what appear to become the spiritual images of gravestones. While more will certainly come, very little additional information was handed about the development, leaving fans to take a position once again using the one illustration they've.
While the question of what the development will be titled continues to be answered, only more questions stick to the announcement, the most prominent being the identity of the figure and just how important she is going to be to the story. Elden Ring recently passed a milestone of 20 million copies sold, and therefore many have high expectations in regard to what the next chapter of the game brings. In the coming months, there's hope more info will surface.
