The Packers were the most disappointing team in the NFL during the 2022 regular season. At 8-9, Green Bay mi sed the NFC playoffs after losing to Detroit at home on Sunday night, finishing as the No. 10 team in the conference.Last season, the Packers went 13-4, matching the win total of the previous two seasons under coach Matt LaFleur. They were the No. 1 seed with the best record in the NFL, only to lose to the 49ers at Lambeau Alexei Emelin Jersey Field in the divisional playoffs.Call it a heavy hangover or a frustrating free-fall, but here's breaking down what caused he Packers to have a five-game slide out of even a wild-card spot:NFL MOCK DRAFT: When Rodgers was intercepted by Lions rookie safety Kerby Joseph while taking a downfield shot late in Sunday's 20-16 lo s, it doomed the Packers' season. It was the third time Joseph picked off Rodgers in two games.Rodgers threw only nine interceptions, combined, in his 2020 and 2021 MVP seasons. He reached 12 INTs in 2022, his highest total in a dozen seasons. He also ended his streak of four consecutive 4,000-yard pa sing seasons. His 6.8 yards per attempt was his lowest since 2015. His 91.1 pa ser rating was a career worst. Bottom line, Rodgers' performance in 2022 while turning 39 wasn't good enough in arguably his worst Nick Cousins Men Jersey season ever. The Packers needed Rodgers to raise his game with some blocking i sues and a new-look receiving corps. That didn't happen. Although he did well to lead them from 4-8 to the brink of the playoffs with his intangible, his subpar play already had cost them to the point of being unable to recover. This isn't an excuse for Rodgers, but there also was no flow to the receiving corps without Adams and outside field-stretcher Marquez Valdes-Scantling. Rookie Romeo Doubs had his moments and rookie Christian Watson flashed big time in the second half. But oft-injured Allen Lazard was up-and-down and Randall Cobb in the slot wasn't a key factor. It also was curious why tight end Robert Tonyan wasn't always involved in the pa sing game. Furthermore, it made little sense to not expand running backs Aaron Jones' and A.J. Dillon's roles as receivers.LaFleur was off in his play-calling to spread the ball around effectively, something Kyle Shanahan and Andy Reid did much better with changing offenses. Rodgers was off in his decision making and accuracy, forcing things that Alex Galchenyuk Women Jersey weren't there at times. The Packers had left tackle David Bakhtiari still recovering from his knee injury early and playing hurt late. Elgton Jenkins was their best lineman again, but he had to be flipped from right tackle to left guard while also dealing with injuries. Josh Myers and Jon Runyan struggled the entire season. Yosh Nijman also was overwhelmed at bit at right tackle at times (see Tomas Plekanec Men Jersey vs. Aidan Hutchinson). The lack of continuity on the unit also hurt before some cohesivene s late. The Packers should be in the offseason market for an offensive tackle who can play on the right side now on the left side later. On top of Rodgers not playing well and the receiving corps in transition, the dropoff in blocking also was a hindering factor. The Packers had a strong pa s defense again with their secondary depth and strength and tried to maintain some pre sure without a healthy Rashan Gary. But they often got gashed on the ground with the league's No. 26 run defense, allowing on average 139.5 rushing yards per game.In 2021, the Packers were a solid 10th in the NFL, allowing on average only 108.9 yards rushing per game. In '22, teams could pound them and wear the down and avoid throwing too much vs. their tough coverage in the back seven. When teams can run so well on the Packers, they also can better execute the game plan of sustaining long drives to better match the Packers' po se sions. Green Bay scored touchdowns on only 51.9 percent of its trips to the red zone, No. 24 in the NFL. It also was No. 17 on third downs, converting only 39.5 percent of the time. The Packers settled for too many field-goal attempts given their prowe s with Rodgers, Jones and Dillon. It cost them again against the Lions on Sunday. Part of that was tied to Rodgers not delivering as much Mark Streit Men Jersey in third-and-manageable situations. It can be said in many ways, but the Packers just didn't play as well as they could have in many key areas, despite managing injuries well. It added up to being five games worse and no playoffs, raising new major questions for next year in what might be the final year of Rodgers in Green Bay.
