After a proposal in Fiji, real bride Carla and her fiance Daniel attempted to plan a marriage that balanced modern and classic styles. Carla was certain that she wanted an off-the-shoulder wedding dresses but locating the perfect gown turned out to be difficult. Dan and I visited Fiji together in January 2020 and stayed at the Marriott Momi Bay Resort within this beautiful lagoon front Bure. On the first day, we'd have dinner and then went back to the room immediately after sunset. Daniel ordered some cocktails and we sat outside around the deck in our Bure looking out towards the lagoon. I could tell he would be a bit nervous and quiet for any reason, but he soon started telling me everything he admired about me and just how much he appreciated having me in his life. Next thing I knew, he leaped from the lounge onto one knee and inquired about marrying him, presenting an attractive teal sapphire gold ring which I had stated to him about 6 months prior online. I started hysterically crying and I’m confident it echoed over the whole lagoon. It was great he proposed around the first night of our vacation because I was able to celebrate and extremely enjoy the time we'd together before going back to everyday life and starting the look process.

When I found dress shopping, I really wanted a vintage, timeless, elegant, and straightforward dress that wasn’t outrageous. I knew in the get-go I loved the from-the-shoulder neckline and I didn’t desire a huge frou-frou ball gown. It was actually quite difficult to locate dresses having a straight-across off-the-shoulder neckline. I visited about twenty dress shops over 5 or 6 weeks, and I was becoming very overwhelmed by the procedure. Six weeks into searching, I booked a scheduled appointment at Accapella Bridal in Wollongong with Connie, and she or he had three dresses arranged for me that I had stated on her website. The moment I put around the second dress, I knew it had been it. It just felt right. It was made for me personally, and I also knew my hubby would love it. The neckline was regal and timeless, the pleated ball gown skirt made the gown grand but nonetheless understated, the train would be a perfect length, also it had these stunning buttons in the top towards the end from the train. It was just heaven. I chose to help keep it simple, so I didn’t add any belts or embellishments. I wore pearls because the gown is made of Pearl Mikado coupled with a subtle shine. I also found an attractive pearl veil on the internet and wore a pearl clean my mother had bought in Singapore and wore on her behalf wedding day. It all matched perfectly.

We got married within the Catholic church where my parents got married, where I was raised, and where we'd all in our religious family events through the years. The ceremony for all of us was the most crucial part of the day, and we chose to possess a short but traditional Catholic mass while using the church’s vows. For our reception in the botanical garden, the flowers and styling were a complete highlight. White and gold were the bottom tones, once we wanted a vintage and timeless foundation, and also the other colors added a contemporary flair. Our florist added olive tree branches with actual olives towards the arrangements around the day also it just perfectly tied along with our Italian heritage and our essential olive oil Bomboniere. Our main priority for the wedding ended up being to have our guests have a great time. We chose to book several forms of entertainment including a Violin Stunt Duo, a photo booth, a caricaturist, along with a live singer for that church ceremony and canape hour. At the finish of the night time, we gave our flowers away in small posies for that guests to consider home and revel in. It was honestly an ideal day and I would 1000x try it again.

So many precious moments! Of course, walking down the aisle is surreal since it is something you consider your whole life and especially in the lead-up to the long sleeve wedding dresses. You always wonder how it’s likely to feel, and for me personally, I felt a massive sense of calm, like I was floating on air for the love of my entire life, my future. My other favorite moment was immediately after we arrived at the reception and Daniel and I snuck off to the beach for photos at sunset. I just remember hearing the waves crash behind us, time stood still and it would be a moment that felt enjoyable it would last forever.
