Russell Westbrook was 2K MT given an unflattering 78 overall rating in NBA 2K23.

A lot changed regarding the Los Angeles Lakers when the team decided to make a trade for Russell Westbrook last summer. Los Angeles traded legitimate NBA assets and a first-round pick in exchange for Westbrook in the move that was widely criticised at the time. All of the detractors of the trade ended up being right, since Westbrook ended up being an enormous thorn in team's way last season. Now, the Lakers have found themselves in the position that they'd be better off in the event that they trade Westbrook but could have gave up hope of that happening.

The worst part is that Westbrook seems to believe that he's an elite player. He admitted to taking no blame for the team's performance in his exit interview last season. Westbrook has a basketball ego which is extremely difficult to break. Perhaps the folks over at NBA 2K23 can break that ego down a bit, though. Ratings for the upcoming game are now coming out and Westbrook's performance is not one of a star player (which the guy believes he's). It's more of a rotational bench player.

Russell Westbrook was given an ugly 78 overall rating on NBA 2K23. Russell Westbrook has the fourth-highest 2K23 rating on the Los Angeles Lakers. Westbrook is obviously behind both LeBron and Anthony Davis but he is even further behind his most recent colleague as well. 2K have given Patrick Beverley a 79 overall rating, which is an appropriate reflection of where he's at in his career.

Westbrook is tied with Kendrick Nunn and is just barely higher than the likes of Thomas Bryant and Lonnie Walker IV. It's a major decline for Westbrook but it's completely justified. Westbrook fans will be enraged by this result and be quick to point to his box score as the reason his score should be somewhere in the mid to high 80s. Anyone who has actually watched Lakers play basketball in the last year can tell Buy NBA 2K MT how misleading the box score is, though, and how poorly Westbrook performed last season.
