Since its inception in 2004, Gmail has grown to become the most popular email service in the world. Granted, it doesn't have a great track record when it comes to privacy, but nothing beats the Google behemoth when it comes to pure ease of use and great features. Gmail has so many features that it can be difficult to keep track of them all. So here's Android Authority's ultimate guide to Gmail, complete with all the features you already knew about as well as some you might not have known about.

Gmail is Google's email service, which has been in operation since 2004. It was initially an invite-only service, but Google eventually opened it up to anyone who wanted to join. It was groundbreaking at the time because it provided more storage space than any other email platform at the time. In fact, Google assured us that we would never have to delete another email again. Since its inception in 2004, the service has evolved significantly, with Gmail features being phased out and new ones being added on a regular basis. It's always a work in progress.

Is Gmail a free service?

The standard vanilla Gmail service is free and comes with 15GB of storage space. Because this 15GB includes your space in Google Drive and Google Photos, you can upgrade your storage if you need more.

If you need to connect your domain email to Gmail (for example, john.doe@example.com), you'll need to upgrade to Google Workspace. The price of Google Workspace is determined by the number of email addresses you create on your domain. Each email address costs only a few dollars per month, and space can be upgraded based on your needs.

Why should you use Gmail?

There are numerous reasons why Gmail has risen to the top of the email pack.

First and foremost, as a Google product, Gmail's search functionality is unparalleled. Using the search bar, labels, and sorting capabilities, you can quickly get to what you need, whether it's finding old archived emails or hunting down important attachments. If your Gmail history becomes annoying or embarrassing, you can delete it. You can even create filtering rules so that labels are automatically applied and certain emails are not delivered to your inbox.

Gmail is it available in my country?

Standard

Gmail and all associated Google services are available worldwide. However, Google has been blocked by the government of some countries for political reasons. China is a prime example. In their dispute over Telegram, Russia briefly blocked Gmail and other Google services, but this ban has now been lifted. Access to Gmail may be restricted in other countries as well. And Google may decide not to make it available to others.

As with any political situation, things can change at any time, with restrictions lifted in some places while new ones are imposed in others. However, Gmail is generally available in most parts of the world.

How many Gmail accounts are allowed?

You can have an unlimited number of Google/Gmail accounts with Gmail sign up for free. However, you are limited to four Google/Gmail accounts per unique mobile number when adding a phone number to the account.
