When you think of Devon, does your brain turn to the running green inclines full of farms with lambs and lambs in the patchwork fields, the rugged moorland of Dartmoor, or perhaps the stunning shorelines, some of which are considered to be among the best in the world?

Many tourists come to Devon for only such scenery, and the experiences such locations can offer, from cycling down country lanes to picnics on the moors or brushing rockpools for crabs and other underwater life.

One of the best ways to see South Devon is with a self-catering luxury bachelor's pad as a base camp. Unlike a normal, plain hotel room with the "same old" four walls and decor, you can get an incredible sense of enjoyment and fun just from leasing a special bachelor's pad tucked away in a town or hamlet in the South Hams area of South Devon corporate catering menu. Perhaps you'll spend the night in a luxury thatched bachelor's pad near Salcombe, a transformed barn near Dartmouth or a country bachelor's pad near Kingsbridge. No matter what requirements you have, such as travelling with quite a few young children and needing a large bachelor's pad or farmhouse, or with dogs and needing dog-friendly self-catering accommodation, there's an ample selection of cottages and other self-catering accommodation to choose from in the South Devon area.

Of course, it's likely that your new "home from home" will be off the usual track. Unless you're in the middle of the few towns in the South Hams such as Dartmouth, Kingsbridge or Ivybridge, you'll be "out in the sticks", which means you'll be able to open your door, take in the spectacular scenery, and trigger on a walk, rise, cycling ride, or just a quick drive to the beach, or moors. One of the most famous local walks is the South Shoreline Walk along the South west Coast Path, which runs for a total of 630 miles around the Westcountry. Several designated walks fall into the South Hams area, and you will be near your hotels. For example, Salcombe to Bolt Head is a 3 kilometer walk via a landscape of rugged spires and pinnacles with inspiring views!

If you're within driving distance, you won't have to worry about catching routes from airfields, either on the way to or from Devon, which removes one of the biggest stresses of a holiday! You can take a unhurried lower through the counties of the Western side Country, perhaps stopping off at a pub for a traditional ploughman's lunch before arriving at your self-catering bachelor's pad or other accommodation.
