New Year is a time for brand new beginnings, and believe to start a brand new year apart from waking up married? That's precisely what today's couple, Catherine and Simon, did because they chose 31 December to create their family and friends together to determine them wed in Wales.

With a festive, wintery vibe at its heart, the pair planned each day that was boho and natural but elegant and glamorous; made much more so by its black-tie dress code, numerous greenery, and magical fairy lights.

"We loved the thought of a festive, wintery wedding. As it was New Year's Eve we'd a black-tie dress code having a masked ball theme, which meant everybody was super decked out, that was so much fun."

Catherine looks sensational in her own contemporary, modern gown, an excellent combination of a flowing, button-down skirt along with a glamorous lace bodice.

Underpinning the festive feel was the rich, jewel-like hue of navy blue bridesmaid dresses. They marry perfectly using the abundance of natural foliage and white blooms.

"We wanted a large amount of greenery with a few white flowers to create it all together. Ness and her team made a floral frame to sit down over the party area which looked perfect! We had Christmas trees to help keep the festive feel."

To wear using their sophisticated gowns, Catherine gifted her bridesmaid's cute bracelets.

Growing up, Catherine spent many happy summers at her parents’ home in Wales. Although she and Simon now reside in Amsterdam, deciding to marry in Pembrokeshire would be a clear choice.

"My parents own a home there and I was raised spending all my school holidays there, so it's really special in my experience. I always knew that I desired to get married in Wales because it's this type of beautiful world."

Simon and Catherine met via a mutual friend, hitting them back over a disastrous dinner – throughout the party.

"We met one evening in a dinner where we bonded over being the only real ones that didn't get food poisoning in the oysters! We were engaged in Lisbon inside a beautiful hotel on the hill overlooking the town and were engaged for just the year before we got married."

Come ceremony time, Catherine entered the household church together with her father because the church organ played. The service was led by Reverend Neil Llewellyn making personal to the pair by their lovely selection of readings.

After the ceremony, the newlyweds spent some precious moments together driving towards the masked ball reception inside a borrowed Jaguar.

"Ness was amazing! We couldn't have pulled them back without her. We had festoon lighting all away from the marquee because it got dark very early. Most of the décor was through flowers and greenery and Christmas trees with fairy lights. We also had a large number of candles which added towards the romantic, festive feel that people wanted."

"My sister made the wedding cake as our wedding gift. It took her around per month and was the best wedding gift we're able to have requested. She designed a naked cake and added the flowers that people used throughout also it looked stunning."

For the evening reception, the pair threw an amazing New Year's Eve party, filled with masks, live soul music, and fireworks. Oh, and never forget the majestic cake that the bride's sister baked.

Words of Wedded Wisdom

"The day passes so quickly just be sure you make my way through and don't worry whatsoever about everything being perfect. If something goes completely wrong either nobody notices or that's what makes the marriage memorable!"

"Put some thought into the ceremony, because it is so sacred for you and your partner."
