On 22 February 2020, the interior stylist married Henry, a painter at, that is Britain's largest nature reserve within the heart of the Cairngorms, who looked after through the National Trust for Scotland. They held their day within the Estate's grand Victorian hunting lodge and took their styling inspiration from the beauty of winter as well as their majestic surroundings.

Sonia created a radiant search for Alyce to visit perfectly using the slinky, shimmering great thing about her long-sleeved dress – the 'Celine', which she sourced second-hand.

"The bridesmaids wore a mixture of dresses from florals to velvet bridesmaid dresses and satins, from FeelTimes."

The bridesmaids all wore their very own choice of gold shoes, plus they were each gifted a gold bangle from Alyce using their initials.

"I tried on several dresses but always kept comparing them to the 'Celine' gown. I just loved the long sleeves and casual shape with intricate beadwork, and also the swirls and detailing round the wrists and bodice reminded me of a winter's frost, which seemed right for our winter wedding."

As her dress is full of lovely embellishments, Alyce chose to keep the remainder of her accessories simple, having a gold necklace borrowed from her bridesmaid. Here

"We met 13 years back in Berlin on the college art trip. Henry's father was my sculpture tutor, and Henry had tagged along around the trip during his gap year."

"Ten years later in the end were on vacation in Ireland, we climbed towards the top of Mount Errigal and Henry proposed, then a packed lunch of cheese sandwiches! Henry is an avid hill walker which means this all felt very fitting."

"Our favorite part from the day was as soon as we stepped out from the ceremony to the favorite song and greeted all our family members who gathered in one location."

"For favors, my grandad grew each guest a Sempervivum from seed, which we planted in individual terracotta pots. Henry then created copper planters which had the wedding date stamped into them."

Adding more drama and texture to the space were boughs of evergreens and pine cones, vases of seasonal flowers, and plenty of balloons, too.

Words of Wedded Wisdom

"Don't become overwhelmed and stressed concerning the small details from the day, it's highly likely something goes wrong or gets forgotten, but once your day has begun and you are encompassed by your nearest and dearest it won't matter."
