It's fascinating to examine the various ways I've played in over the years; From running through bosses to RS gold running a clan of roleplayers or gaining hours of experience in order to achieve an objective.

It's now my preference to take my time and not use anything that might boost the amount of XP I earn, so that I can take my time on my long trek to level up. I read a lot while playing - it's strangely soothing to listen to the clink of my mattock or pickaxe in the background.

What keeps me returning to RuneScape is that it is as a living thing, constantly evolving by introducing new challenges and different locations. There are the abilities as well as the interwoven tapestries that tie the different gameplay aspects together, and allow me to move from making runestones to finding dinosaurs. My personal favourite is Archaeology due to the way it combines lore-based exploration with incredible skill progression.

On the subject of RuneScape lore - never forget the quest lines. I've been there and experienced gothic horror along with epic fantasy and one man's dream of baking cakes. I'll never forget how many hours that I was in The Temple of Light, even though I often wish I could. It's not even the best part.
