The two jerseys show the NHL reverting back to a simpler design than in years past, with the league crest sitting front and centre on the uniform, while blue and red serve as the primary two colours. There are also two large stars running down the sleeve of each sweater, leading into some black and white accent lines, respectively.

With the All-Star Game set to take place in Las Vegas this year, it's interesting that the NHL did not lean into the aesthetic of its host city when designing the uniforms, perhaps using the Golden Knights' colours or including fun nods to the spirit of the city such as a dice or playing card graphic. Nonetheless, these are two very nice, streamlined designs that should please fans on a broad level while not breaking any new ground.

But "with my mind on my money and my money on my mind," this is just another bland jersey to pass on.

A Pittsburgh retro jersey was screaming for old school powder blue or the yellow jersey sported in the '80s. Or even, since most of the teams' retros are from the 90s, how about the half penguin? Who doesn't think of that one when picturing Jaromir Jagr and his poofy mullet in all its glory.
