Nintendo has another new action. They seem to want to further expand their amiibo card catalog. The company announced in a tweet today that the fifth series of amiibo cards will enter retail stores and will be compatible with Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

The previous four series and the welcome amiibo series have 100 and 50 cards respectively. So far, only 8 new villagers have been introduced in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Considering that NPC amiibo cards only accounted for less than 20 cards in Series 1 to Series 4, this either means that Series 5 will be smaller or that new villagers will join the game.

In Nintendo Direct in September 2021, a new trailer for the upcoming Animal Crossing Direct was announced. There is no word on when it will premiere outside of "October," nor the length of the presentation. They did announce that fan-favorite NPC Brewster and his cafe The Roost will return in a future update.

Brewster is well-loved, and since his debut in Animal Crossing: Wild World in 2005, he has been a fan favorite. Since then, he has been running a coffee shop in various game museums until New Leaf opened his own store. You can find him behind the counter; he is a pigeon with small round glasses and a beautiful vest with an apron. Naturally, he is passionate about coffee-this is consistent in Wild World, City Folk and New Leaf.
