Despite the fact that Nook's Cranny and the Able Sisters don't open until 8 a.  and 9 a. , respectively, leaving late-night shoppers in the lurch, there's still plenty to do for Animal Crossing: New Horizons players who like to stay up late. Staying up for the entire 24 hours of the New Horizons day would certainly allow players to make the most of their time on their island, though staying up for 24 hours straight does not appear to have any special effects.

While Animal Crossing: New Horizons could use more content to keep dedicated players interested, and self-created challenges like staying up in-game for 24 hours straight won't be realistic options for everyone, those who attempt it are likely to come out the other end with their villager's pockets stuffed full of cash (and bragging rights) from fish and bugs, and their island looking gorgeous from top to bottom.  Animal Crossing: New Horizons is one of the few games that follows a 24-hour format, as every minute that passes in real time is a minute that passes on a player's island; but what if a player were to stay up for a full 24-hour period?

Olaf's obsession with wealth and constant superiority complex are only rivaled by the strand of over-greased hair between his eyes, which he wears between his eyes. Olaf is a Smug Anteater who is only kind when no one threatens his dominance, but he is capable of clashing with anyone at any time. Olaf's moments of kindness can be interpreted as insincere because of his drastic personality changes, which only serves to reinforce his arrogant demeanor. Apart from ACNH Timmy and Tommy, which is reminiscent of a Matador, there is little reason to keep Olaf around.

While a player's real-life day may be metaphorically reset at midnight, and Animal Crossing: New Horizons will also move from one date to the next, the game doesn't place much emphasis on this particular temporal divide.  to properly begin a new day, with Isabelle in Resident Services appearing to deliver her daily announcements. Once she's finished informing players about special visitors, upcoming meteor showers, or any other events for the day, players are simply released back into the world, with the added benefit of store stocks, rocks, holes, trees, and other such resets getting their daily refresh.

Despite the fact that it appears to be a monumental challenge, staying up for 24 hours straight in Animal Crossing: New Horizons appears to have no special effect other than draining the player's energy. The one exception is that such an ambitious player would receive the next daily announcement at the earliest possible opportunity, rather than when they first boot up the game. However, this does not occur at 12 a. , and anyone who simply woke up early enough (or went to bed late enough) would have had the same opportunity.

There are plenty of critters to catch in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, including seasonal bugs and fish, but many of them are only available during the later hours of the day.  and 8 a. It is possible that a player could make significant progress in their museum if they were to stay up for 24 hours straight, acquiring some of the seasonal bugs and fish while also getting everything they needed during the day and making the most of the nocturnal creatures as well.
