Psyonix is giving Rocket League fans a pair of new reasons to get excited this weekend – as if any of Rocket League Trading us ever really need a new reason to get hyped about playing soccer with cars – including a new basketball mode being developed by the Rocket League team.

Sports fans everywhere know March Madness, the annual NCAA college basketball tournament, is just around the corner. With Selection Sunday just days away, and the first round of games scheduled for next week, Psyonix figured there was no better time to unveil the next major addition to Rocket League. It’s not clear whether the newly revealed content, called  “Rocket League Hoops”, will be a new mode or one of the many arenas players encounter when matchmaking. Either way, basketball will be coming to Rocket League in some capacity, hopefully in the not-too-distant future.

In addition to introducing Rocket League Hoops, Psyonix has partnered with Techland to bring Dying Light inspired content to Rocket League and vice versa. The first bit of content to be created under the new partnership is a Rocket League skin for the dune buggy in Dying Light: The Following, a small addition that can be seen in the newly-released Dying Light and Rocket League collaboration trailer. The studios say Dying Light paint jobs will be added to RL Prices Rocket League in the near future, too.
