Depressed SON bone-crushing Kane's 'insane 43 goals', "more than the entire Tottenham attacking line
The more goals Harry Kane (Bayern Munich) scores, the more damage he does to Tottenham.
Kane added a goal in the first leg of the 2023-2024 UEFA Champions League quarterfinal first leg against Real Madrid at the Allianz Arena in Munich, Germany, on Monday to extend his tally to 43 goals this season.
Kane, a former Tottenham first teamer, moved to Munich for €100 million last summer and has exploded for 43 goals and 11 assists in 43 appearances, including cup competitions. That's a "crazy record" of almost one goal per game.
In a post on its official channel highlighting Kane's goalscoring record, soccer publication 90min took a 'jab' at Tottenham and 'Captain Thorn' Son Heung-min.
The outlet wrote: 'We can never replace Kane. Never," the post read, adding that "Kane has now surpassed the combined goals of the Tottenham attacking lineup.
A composite image of five Tottenham attackers looking frustrated behind Kane as he celebrates his goal was also released. The five are Heung-min Son, James Maddison, N'Golo Kante, Brennan Johnson, and Dejan Kuluczewski.
Shockingly, it's true. Son has 16 goals in all competitions (16 in league), including cups, Heung-min has 11 (10 in league), Kulicepski has six (6 in league), Johnson has five (5 in league), and Maddison has four (4 in league), for a total of 42 goals.
Tottenham have not played in European club competitions this season, so their overall goal tally is not high.
Kane, on the other hand, didn't need to adjust to a new league, scoring a monster 35 goals in his debut season in the German Bundesliga.
While he missed out on the Bundesliga title, he exploded for eight goals in the 스포츠토토 Champions League, leading his team to the semifinals. The first leg of the Champions League semifinal against Real drew 2-2 after a series of mistakes by Kim Min-jae.
Tottenham burst onto the scene in Kane's first season away from the club, playing an unconventional attacking style of soccer under manager Enzi Postecoglou, but they have slipped in the second half of the season and are fifth in the league on day one.
They are seven points adrift of fourth-place Aston Villa (67 points), who have a realistic chance of qualifying for the Champions League.
Son ended a three-match drought in the north London derby with Arsenal on March 28, scoring his 16th goal of the season from the penalty spot, but it was not enough to prevent a 2-3 defeat.
Kane, who scored 30 goals in the Premier League last season, is increasingly missed.
