"I really love that, and such people usually understand the reasons why Venezuelans promote gold at RuneScape.''``I have seen a true mix [of comments]," says Perez. "Some dreadful shit from those that OSRS gold are racist or'trolling' but at the other end people who seem very keen to encourage you. Acts of kindness toward RuneScape players are not rare. 1 RuneScape participant from the Netherlands noticed an influx of Spanish-speaking users, also reached out to help.

"I basically try to help [Venezulan RuneScape players] because they deserve better in their real life," he says. "I provide them help and perform giveaways because I have enough money. It helps them so much. They barely speak English, so it is difficult for them to learn from themselves too." He doesn't feel that the increase in RuneScape players is having a negative impact on RuneScape, but it's really helping the in-game market. He tells us he's met with a range of RuneScape players running the gamut from people who play RuneScape to help feed their families whenever they want money to those who play enjoyment but will turn to farming.

"Venezuelans do not hurt RuneScape integrity whatsoever; actually they only make it more bearable for its high-end RuneScape players, even as they maintain costs of certain items low," he says. As word of the crisis in Venezuela continues to spread, there has been a positive response from parts of this RuneScape community who are now becoming aware of what is going on in the nation. Most recently, one RuneScape YouTuber published a movie in which he invited his 117,000 followers to assist Venezuela. For Alejandro, more empathy and a greater understanding of the situation that Venezuelan RuneScape players find themselves would be greatly appreciated.

"People [who] say that it hurts RuneScape and damages the market of RuneScape are just thinking of themselves," Alejandro says. "For those people, a game is much more important than the welfare of another human being." Martinez shares similar thoughts. "I personally get unnecessary vitriol from other RuneScape players but they do not [recognize] I don't decide to live my life like this," he writes. "I had to leave my job as an accountant and cheap RS gold start doing this otherwise me and my loved ones could be eating from the floor. Many more Venezuelans are in the exact same circumstance. As I've mentioned before, though I know it's hurting RuneScape that I grew to love, I can't put the health of the match within the wellbeing of my loved ones.
