APPLICATIONS

THEIC is mainly used as an important raw material for the production of heat-resistant wire enamel and PVC heat stabilizer, and is used to improve the heat resistance of wire enamel and the processing temperature and performance of PVC.

In addition to above main uses, THEIC is also used in the production of various polyurethane plastics, water-based baking varnishes, unsaturated polyester resins, pesticides, plastic accelerators, dyes and organic synthesis intermediates. For example, THEIC can be used as a crosslinking agent in the preparation of polyester resins.

THEIC helps to increase the thermal degradation rate of APP flame retardants to achieve a synergistic flame retardant effect.

There have also been many recent studies exploring the potential of THEIC in the preparation of catalysts, such as nanocatalysts.

END USES

End-use markets of THEIC include:

Paints and coatings: Typical examples are THEIC modified polyesterimide enamels, THEIC modified polyester enamels, etc. They generally have good flexibility, good adhesion and good thermal stability.

PVC resin modification: PVC resin should be processed and produced through modification to realize melt plasticization. THEIC can be used as a PVC heat stabilizer to prevent or inhibit its de-HCl and discoloration caused by de-HCl during resin processing.

Pharmaceutical: For example, THEIC functionalized carbon catalysts can be used to catalyze the synthesis of benzimidazole derivatives, which are considered to be an important class of bioactive molecules in the fields of medicine and pharmacy.
