How to clean a gun?
The cleaning of gun is an important part of maintenance. Gun should be cleaned immediately after use. If you do not know how to clean it properly, read on for details below.
Clean your gun after every shot
Cleaning your shotgun after each shot will keep your shotgun in good condition. Otherwise, ammunition powder and grease in the gun will accumulate and bond, quickly causing malfunction. A dirty gun is a dangerous gun and has a huge impact on safety.
Disassemble the gun into its major parts
You will need to follow the instructions in the gun owner's manual to disassemble the gun. If your shotgun is a break-action shotgun, this is a good opportunity to clean the gun. In this case, you can easily clean this type of gun by simply leaving it open along its hinges. If you don't want to take the barrel off, at least take it off and clean it.
Wipe the grease off the gun
Use an aerosol degreaser or solvent designed for gun shooting. Do not use degreasers or solvents on any moving parts, such as the trigger assembly. But it is possible to spray paint the barrel and choke the tube.
Wipe the barrel
Just use a rag and push it with a rod to clean the barrel, or you can buy a special gun cleaning kit. Be sure not to leave lint inside the barrel.
Scratch choke
These can be messy because they bear the brunt of contact with the bullet's powder. Spray a little aerosol cleaner directly onto a rifle brush or old toothbrush to scrub.
Wipe under the gun
Using a clean cloth, wipe away any spots of powder or dirt that need cleaning, and if the stain is stubborn, use a generous amount of aerosol spray to focus on the cleaning.
