The new supernatural horror flick is about a girl that gets a strange music box from her father, that she realizes will grant her seven wishes. She also later learns though, that there's a very violent and horrific price for every wish. The thriller movie was directed by John R. Leonetti (who's also helmed other horror flicks like 'ANNABELLE' and 'THE BUTTERFLY EFFECT 2'), and it was written by Barbara Marshall (who also wrote the horror flick 'VIRAL', from last year). The movie stars Joey King, Ryan Phillipe, Elisabeth Rohm, Ki Hong Lee, Sydney Park, Shannon Purser, Mitchell Slaggert, and Sherilyn Fenn. The screenplay was voted to the 2015 Black List, and the film was made on a budget of just $12 million. It's received mostly mediocre reviews from critics, and viewers, but I enjoyed it.
Suspenseful and interesting horror thriller movie with intriguing events, twists, and turns. A little girl called Clare Shannon is living with her father (Ryan Phillippe) and mother (Elisabeth Röhm) when things go wrong. Some years later, the teenage girl (Joey King) discovers a box that carries magic powers and a deadly price for using them, as she is given seven wishes with evil purposes, resulting in no good fun while strange events occur. Along the way, she suffers from the most terrible recurring nightmares but she hopes this magic box will be the opportunity to forget mum's death. Some naughty teenagers enjoy scaring and bullying her. As soon as Clare invokes his wishes bad things start occurring to those around her, such as bizarre appearances, tortuous discovery, astonishing killings, and other creepy happenings. As an evil entity seems to live inside the box and may be behind the gruesome death. Be careful what you wish for.
At the end of the thriller movie, the Korean boy did not bury the magic box but picked it up with a weird smile. Here, Ai Nei-kun feels that since the future has changed, the boy at this time is not the one who knew everything before.
