Dr. Mielke’s previous experience in the laser industry spanned multiple technology platforms and enterprises. He has served as the chief technology officer of Iradion Laser, the engineering director of Lumentum kilowatt fiber laser, the project manager of TRUMPF micromachining, and the chief scientist of Raydiance (acquired by Coherent in 2015). Mielke was employee number one at Raydiance and played a key role in the development of the company’s industrial ultrafast laser market.

Previously, Mielke received a BS in Physics from the University of Florida and a PhD in Optics from the Center for Optics and Laser Research and Education at the University of Central Florida. He is also an inventor on 22 US and international patents in laser technology.
